Just a few more pictures from my trip to Zagreb, Croatia. You can see the central market pictures here.
While wandering around, we came across the Black Eagle Pharmacy, which is the oldest pharmacy in Zagreb. Their window display was full of vintage apothecary ideas. Here you can see a mortar and pestle for crushing up herbs, some old advertisements, and scales for weighing the products.
Great vintage medicine bottles.
I assume these jars were used for storing herbs and medicines. This really inspires me to make some fun vintage labels for my VSF projects!
Just outside the pharmacy on the corner, there are actual gas street lamps. And we saw the street-lamp lighter (how’s that for a vintage profession?) who rides around on a bicycle in the late afternoon and lights all of the gas lights in that part of town.
